A collector friend from USA has send in this interesting United Nations visa which was issued on a “Ben Franklin” passport (issued only 1993-1994) by the U.S. State Dept., to commemorate the 200th birthday of the U.S. Foreign Service. The green colored Benjamin Franklin passport was issued only from April 1993 to March 1994 to commemorate 200 years of the foreign service. According statistics of the foreign office this type was issued 4.2 million times. And even the numbers are much higher compared to the 1976 commemorative blue 200 years America edition, the green passport type is more rare to spot.
A United Nations visa is only granted if the passport holder has an official letter of the United Nations stating position and the purpose of visit.
